Having grown up in the Virgin Islands, I embraced the world of mismatched patterns seen in layers of different cloths and head wraps from my homeland and the Cruzan culture. Textiles played a huge roll in my early aesthetic development and this is where the foundation for my designs begins, complete with the saturated colors of Sis Boom. Large florals and deep colored backgrounds lay the foundation for the strong island vibes in this collection. Built of florals, a huge Fleur de Lis, a wonderful check, two-tone wood cuts and rhythmic lines, this collection looks effortless and allows the color harmonies in the fabrics to pull it all together. I can see amazing quilts, gorgeous dresses and accessories crafted from these designs.
