Verna Mosquera - Indigo Rose - Paisley Path

Item # PWVM136
My latest collection was inspired by a vintage piece of indigo cloth.  At many points in time, indigo was the most important dye in the world. The only natural dye that offers clear and fast natural blue, indigo has been used to color textiles and rugs in all parts of the world. The word indigo is derived from Greek and means from India. As I studied more about its origin I realized that indigo can dye in various shades. I began pulling paint chips to see if I could duplicate these vivid colors. They made a beautiful backdrop. I started to imagine other colors set against the indigo and began to pull from nature in my own garden. A true lover of roses, I immediately gravitated to a beautiful coral pink rose. As I lay the flowers next to my vintage textile the combination of colors was stunning. I decided to make the palette really pop and added a gorgeous cherry red. I knew it would inspire my next fabric collection. Indigo Rose is rich in history and elegance, yet fresh enough to fit into today’s lifestyle and décor.  The wonderful rose and paisley prints work beautifully with a tartan paid and sugar pin dot. This romantic collection is perfect for quilts, garments and sewn home décor projects. I am so excited to begin stitching with this collection. My mind is already designing different projects and I look forward to sharing them. I can hardly wait to see what it inspires from others. - Verna Mosquera
