Brenda Walton is a graphic designer, illustrator and calligrapher. Growing up in a family of artistsand musicians in Northern California, she discovered her love of color, harmony and design as a child. Her mother, an immigrant from New Zealand, taught Brenda and her three siblings how to grow and cook their own food, how to sew their own clothes, embroider, and craft with paint and paper. Within this colorful environment, Brenda discovered the joy of transforming everyday materials into unique and whimsical creations.
After graduating with a Master’s degree in Studio Art from California State University, Sacramento, Brenda continued her studies in painting and calligraphy in London, New York and San Francisco. While raising their newborn son, she and her husband launched a design business specializing in custom, hand-lettered wedding invitations.
Brenda now partners with leading manufacturers to create products for social expression, crafting and entertaining. She combines ephemera and flea market treasures with original watercolors and hand lettering to create her signature romantic, vintage style. Between design projects, Brenda and her husband explore the world, while she fills her sketchbooks with colorful drawings and true tales of their adventures together.
Brenda finds great joy in encouraging others to discover their own sources of inspiration and creativity.
