Like most artists, David has been drawing and painting all his life. As a child, he was rarely without a sketchbook and pencil and after all these years, things haven't changed much.
After graduation from the University of Kansas, his first job was as an art director at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, Missouri. The experience was invaluable, but eventually he decided it was time to begin licensing his own artwork. Like many businesses, the first year was a struggle, but David was doing what he loved, so stuck to it.
His days are now spent in his studio in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, working on products ranging from children's books and greeting cards to fabric and scrapbook supplies. The saying “Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it” applies nicely to David’s life...and he couldn't be happier about that.
