Brigitte Heitland is a textile designer, quilter, author, and one-woman creative force based in Germany. Trained in interior and textile design, she founded Zen Chic—a brand known for its poetic minimalism and bold modern elegance. In a world of visual noise, her work offers a quiet kind of clarity.

She discovered quilting not in her youth, but in her 40s—proof that passion finds us when we’re ready. What began with a picture book in a bookstore quickly turned into a full-blown love affair with fabric. Since then, she has authored two books, created already over 39 fabric collections, and inspired thousands of makers through her Quiltmaker Academy and international in-person workshops.

Brigitte’s design style is unmistakable: modern, minimalist, and architectural, with a hint of Scandinavian clarity. Her quilts and fabrics speak a quiet but confident language—honest, graphic, and refined. Inspired by the essence of “less but better,” she creates visual spaces where beauty meets peace and boldness meets stillness.

Zen Chic is her creative signature. It’s for the seekers. For those who decorate not just with things, but with meaning. For those who believe that fabric can be a form of poetry.

In her world, quilts don’t shout. They speak—with style, with soul, and with the kind of confidence that comes from knowing who you are.

Through Zen Chic, Brigitte offers more than fabric—she offers meaning. Her mission is to design with intention, to inspire through simplicity, and to connect through color, texture, and story.

“I don’t design for trends. I design for depth.”
